The project of several web applications development that will allow for a greater consumer involvement in the decision-making on purchase decisions was concluded in September 2010. The contractor was The International Consumer Research Institute. Better information for consumers will allow the Slovenian consumer a more equal position (both on the domestic and global markets).

Solutions are offering interactive viewing of data and, in certain segments an active participation in creating content.

The following solutions have been developed during the project:

The site will be devoted to obtaining information on the nutritional value of food products (fat, saturated fatty acids, sugar, salt, fiber, and energy value of the product per 100 g). Basic information would be presented with the indicator of the food suitability for everyday use. The consumers will be informed about the adequacy of their menu and noticed if something in their diet is harmful and how they can correct their eating habits. Customers will be able to ask experts in the field of food. A forum for general discussion on the subject will be set up.

Consumer organizations have been engaged in comparative tests of the products and services and familiarize consumers with the results for decades. The new application will include data from different kind of tests comparing the quality of products and services from various sources and in various formats. The results will be processed in a suitable way for presenting on the web site. The web site will, in addition to directly displaying the results, enable consumers to find a product that meets their needs on the basis of test scores and other criteria (e.g. technical).

The site will offer the basic information about mutual funds and guidance for the design of investment strategies to the consumers. It will include articles on current topics published by EU. The purpose of the application is to ease the selection of mutual funds for the customers.
